Formal leadership within our church is provided by a Church Council of elected elders and councillors that oversees all aspects of church life. The Surrey Hills Church Council meets on the 4th Tuesday evening of each month. The Uniting Church regulations, para 3.1.13(a), declare that:
The Church Council shall give priority in its life to building up the Congregation in faith and love, sustaining members in hope, and leading the Congregation to a fuller participation in Christs mission in the world.
Church Council committees provide for the wider contribution of all church members. These committees focus on the primary areas of church life - worship, pastoral care, faith education, social justice, property and finance.
We are grateful for the faithfulness of those who offer formal leadership in our congregation and for those who encourage us in acts of hospitality, compassion, and justice.
